Youth Activities

The youth of First Baptist Church of Hillsboro are on mission for Jesus Christ!
Seventh-graders through college-age students come together for Sunday School
each Sunday morning at 9:30 A.M. They study their lesson, share their prayer
concerns and fellowship together. Every month they enjoy a birthday breakfast in
class. On the Second Sunday of each month a special afternoon of fun activities is
planned. Second Sunday Stuff with our youth has included Skating, Swimming,
Spelunking, Star gazing, Shopping and a Seasonal Scavanger Hunt. Future plans
include a Sunday Safari, Sunday Splat Party, Science Center Stroll, and a baked
potato luncheon with our Senior Spud Buddies. (SPUD stands for Student Prayer
Uplifting Disciples in Secret. Each of our students has adopted a Senior member in
our church to pray for daily and to get to know better this year.)

On Sunday evenings our young people are studying "True Love Waits" and are
learning what God's Word has to say about sexual purity. They have just completed
a study of the Book of Proverbs.

On Wednesday evenings our Youth on Mission meet for mission study and activities.
Projects have included Nursing Home visitation, cleaning and organizing areas within
our church, helping church members in need, stocking the food pantry and
ministering to the homeless. They have engaged in home improvement projects
within the community and led in Vacation Bible Schools here in Missouri as well as
in Arizona and Colorado on their mission trips.

Many of our young people are also actively involved in our Music, Drama and
Children's Ministries.
